Working with wood began as quality time spent with my Uncle Evert more than 50 years ago. I have gravitated towards wood turning, because of the challenges in allowing the wood to form a useful shape. explore the grace and forms that turning provides.

I'm fascinated with what can be discovered in simple log. I am delighted to create one of a kind pieces that can become a part of your home.

Use and Care

The uses of turned wood projects are many and varied, Each piece that I create is not only a unique, one of a kind piece of art, is is also designed to be used. So please do use! The fruit and harvest bowls I create are great for salads, greens, sweats, nuts, or breads. Avoid dairy or cream type dressings. Any tomato based dressings or sauces are a should never be used as the acidity will tarnish the bowl.

After each use, rinse and wipe the bowl with a damp rag. Lightly coat with a premium cooking oils (Bee's oil, avocado, olive oil or other food safe premium oils). Never use vegetable oil, as that can become rapid. Mineral oil is a good alternative. Do your cutting board or other wood utensils a favor and do the same.

Never submerge in dish water. Washing with running water above the sink is fine. Dish soap will pull oils from the wood pores and grain, to restore your bowl to its original health, apply an oil as described above.

Handles for pizza cutters can be removed if you prefer to wash metal more thoroughly.

Never use in the microwave or place in the dishwasher.

Since wood is a natural insulator, you can place hot things inside the bowl and still be cool enough to carry.

Change, keys, nuts and bolts will scratch. Just saying.
